Greta Myers

Greta received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Lebanon Valley College in 2019. She began her physical therapy career at Lancaster Rehabilitation Hospital where she had the opportunity to work with adults with neurological conditions. She enjoyed working with each individual and problem solving with them to meet their goals and return home. Beyond that, she loved providing education and hope through a transitional time for so many people.

While at Lancaster Rehab, she had multiple mentors who helped her learn more techniques and principles that would end up helping her patients even more. She also began to dive more into the community that she would discharge people into. She helped run a stroke support group for the community and researched local specialized programs for her neurological patients. She found only a few resources and wanted to be involved in creating a more supportive community.

Greta started a neurological physical therapy program for a local private practice and began implementing various community events including a Parkinson’s support group, Parkinson’s Community Walk, Durable Medical Equipment loan program, and an adaptive biking day. She also assisted one of her coworkers in starting a caregiver appreciation dinner along with completing a variety of speaking engagements throughout the community. Greta loves to learn and did not stop learning once she moved into the community and outpatient world. She gained certifications as a Certified Stroke Rehabilitation Specialist, Parkinson’s Wellness Recovery Certified Therapist, and an APTA Board Certified Neurological Clinical Specialist. Furthermore, she and two other colleagues were chosen to present research and cases on the benefits of aquatic therapy for hypermobility and hypomobility at the American Physical Therapy Association’s National Conference.

Greta knew that the community needed more and after quitting her job with the private practice, she started the Neuro Neighborhood. As the Founder and Executive Director of the Neuro Neighborhood, Greta is very excited to see all of the impact the nonprofit can have on the lives of individuals with neurological conditions and their families.

When Greta is not working, she loves to travel with her husband and her mini bernedoodle, Hoka. She also enjoys playing volleyball, biking, and hiking to beautiful vistas.
